Pirate Party Games

Avast me hearties you've found the sunken treasure trove of pirate party games!

Pirate Treasure Hunt

The most exciting pirate game of the party will undoubtedly be the pirate treasure hunt! We've designed a fantastic pirate adventure with 6 rhyming clues and treasure markers to find. The 3D treasure chest at the end can be filled with chocolate coin treasure or you can even get the children to fill their own party bags by having treasure to find at each marker.

Pin the Parrot on the Pirate

Buy our pirate version of pin the tail on the donkey. Go to buy our pin the parrot on the pirate game and once we've emailed you the PDF print it out, stick to some card, cut it out and put some sticky tape or blu-tac on the parrot. A cut out blindfold and winners medal is included! One at a time, get each of your party guests to spin round and try to pin the parrot on the pirate's shoulder. Mark who gets nearest and that's your winner!

Pirate Stepping Stones (3 games in 1)

This pirate party game is just like musical chairs. Buy our pirate stepping stones and you'll find its actually 3 games in 1 handy pack! With the stepping stones you can play musical stepping stones (like musical chairs), the four corners game and a relay race.

  • Stepping stones game - place the stones on the ground and play music while you remove a stone. When the music stops the kids need to stand on a stone and whoever is not on a stone is out, until there is a winner.
  • Four corners game - Set out a different stone in each of the four corners of the room, when the music stops your guests must chose a stone and hope that it is not the one you randomly eliminate!
  • Relay race - place the stones at opposite ends of the room and arrange your guests into teams. Make the relay more challenging by making it a hopping race, a 3 legged race or a sack race.

FREE Printable Colour-in Pirate Ship

Download and print out the pirate ship from our FREE printables page. Provide pencil crayons or felt pens to colour in. Choose a winner at the end of the party.

Best Dressed Pirate Competition

On your party invitations suggest that the children come to the pirate party in fancy dress and judge the winner as soon as they have all arrived at the party.

Musical Pirate Statues

This pirate party game is exactly the same as musical statues. When the music stops everyone has to stand still and anyone moving is knocked out until there is a winner (older children can stand on one leg when the music stops to make it more challenging).

Pirate Captain Says

This pirate party game is exactly the same as ‘Simon Says’ but instead the Captain says an action like ‘Captain says put your hands on your head’. If the Captain doesn’t say it and the children still do it they are knocked out of the game until there is a winner.

Pass the Parcel

Always a favourite birthday party game! Wrap a present in pirate wrapping paper and cover it in as many layers of multicoloured paper as there are guests to the party. Put a small treat inside every layer. When the music stops each child takes it in turns to peal off a layer and get a treat until there is a winner. Alternatively if you don't want to put a treat in each layer add some fun forfeits such as 'jump up and down 10 times and shout 'Ahoy there shipmate' in a pirates voice' or 'squawk like a pirates parrot'.

Pirate Story Time

After all those pirate party games this is perfect to calm younger children down for 10 minutes. All you need is a big story book with bright colourful pictures and the ability to read upside down, so that children can see the pictures. A pirate story is obviously the best for this type of party!
